Since I reopened my shop in the summer of 2023, I’ve experimented with new products, participated in markets, and got more active on social media, my branding kept evolving. I was constantly overthinking it: Is it cute? Will people like it? Or will they hate it?
Eventually, I had to remind myself this is my shop, my business, my brand. While yes, I want to attract customers, it should still feel authentic to who I am. I spent time reflecting and brainstorming, really trying to understand what speaks to me.
That’s when I noticed a pattern. I’ve always gravitated toward the color orange. My prom dress was orange, I love orange heart emojis, and if a dress is even remotely orange-toned, I’m buying it. I also realized how much I love midcentury design and cozy living. I’m a homebody through and through. I love comfy clothes, cuddling with my baby, and just being at home. I’ve never been into going out or partying. I’ve always been that “boring” girl who just wants to stay in.
So I leaned into that, my love for cozy vibes, retro aesthetics, and warm, inviting colors. That’s how my new branding came to life.
I also made peace with the fact that this rebrand didn’t have to happen all at once. As a part-time small business owner, replacing every single marketing material overnight just isn’t realistic. So I’ve given myself and my wallet some grace. I started with the essentials: my website, business cards, thank you cards, stickers, and magnetic bookmark backings, just in time for market season.

Most of my printed materials, like postcards and business cards, come from Vistaprint. But I was also looking for a new place to order branded stickers for packaging and orders. I found a company called AllStickerPrinting, which had great reviews, so I tested them out. I ordered 100 standard vinyl roll stickers (2.4-inch size) to start. Shipping was fast, the packaging was secure, and the quality was amazing. The colors matched my design perfectly, which was a small but important win. I tested the roll stickers on my water bottle, laptop, and a customer order, and they held up beautifully.
I’m definitely planning to stock up on more soon. I’ve already got my eye on branded packaging tape as my next upgrade.
If you haven’t thought about branding yet, or if you’re feeling overwhelmed by it, just remember this: you’re not just selling a product. You’re selling a story. Your branding is what communicates that story to potential customers. The clearer and more aligned your branding is with who you are, the easier it’ll be for people to connect with it.
Take your time. You don’t need to build an entire brand guide overnight. A slow rollout is totally okay. Update things as you’re able to, mentally, creatively, and financially.
From one small business owner to another, you’re going to crush your rebrand journey. You’ve got this, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way!
